Here are some thoughts on encouraging a church to pray.  This recognises that many Christians will want to pray, and many will do so, but that life of a church will need careful nurture and development if it is to grow into a healthy prayer-based community life. A prayer strategy  develops plans to increase the prayerfulness of the church. As a church seeks God's calling and vision, it is vital that there is prayer for the  vision process. Prayer groups, and home groups play a key role in encouraging Christians to pray together. Encourage people to lead intercessions in church. If churches have prayer ministry teams,   it is probably appropriate to provide some guidelines. An example is offered as a base for development. Teaching children to pray is important, here are thoughts on helping Christian parents to do this at home, or for leaders of children's groups to do this in their groups. Prayerwalking brings the power of prayer out onto the streets of our communities.
